Janine works with clients across all of our program areas.  She has advanced her learning in the treatment of attachment disturbances and trauma by completing a variety of specialized training courses.  Janine is trained in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing).  She is certified in grief & loss (David Kessler Training).  She is also a certified financial social worker (Center for Financial Social Work).  She has been trained in the “Circle of Security” treatment model by the University of Virginia, Mary Ainsworth Parent Child Attachment Clinic.  She also completed an intensive attachment and trauma focused training series sponsored by Adoptions Together located in Maryland.  

Janine's clinical experience includes working in a correctional facility as a psychiatric social worker and working with at-risk youth including juvenile offenders.  Her current clinical work focuses on healing trauma, EMDR, grief and loss as well as money-relationship behavioral patterns. Janine served as an adjunct faculty as well as served on the board of the Association for the Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children (ATTACh).  She is a member of the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).   

Prior to forming Autumnleaf Group, Inc., Janine served as the director of program operations for an agency contracted by the District of Columbia government to operate intermediate care group homes for intellectual and developmentally disabled adult citizens.  Additionally, in her career, Janine has been charged with developing and implementing federally funded non-profit programs such as Welfare-to-Work, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Welfare-to-Work, Washington, DC; Community Technology Centers, Washington, DC; and Children of Prisoners, Washington, DC.  The aforementioned District of Columbia programs served residents of underserved communities in Wards 5, 6, 7, and 8.  Janine has also served as a short-term missionary in Sierra Leone, West Africa working in communities in need.
